This song has really meant a lot to me lately. I've been struggling with accepting the fact that He accepts me just because He loves me. I've had trouble accepting that He adores me and loves me for who I am. The thoughts that I have been letting Satan throw into my head are along the lines of "Why would He want me?" or "With all these other awesome people in the world why does He take time for me?" and "I'm such a sinful person, why does He even bother with me?" It's really put a sort of barrier between God and I.
Yesterday my youth pastor was preaching a sermon, and he really stressed the parts about how Jesus loves us. And He wants us. He died for us. Tears swelled in my eyes and I had to fight to keep them from streaming down my face and making a scene. I guess I never really stop to think about the fact that He loves me so much that He gave His life for mine. I truly am saved. God has slowly but surely been pouring understanding and peace into my hopelessly broken and stubborn soul. And I thank Him for that. When I started this post I didn't expect it to get this long... I just expected to put a little music video on there because it's time for another post... ;) Y'all know how that goes!
We are not alone. He is always there and always ready to listen to whatever you have to say. He even understands every struggle your going through. He loves you.
Hey everyone! Oh man, I am really sorry that we haven't posted in a while. Elinor and I have been finishing up our schoolwork so that we can be off and we haven't had much extra time on our hands. On top of that our A/C broke over the weekend and we just got it all fixed up today. I'm really thankful with how blessed we are to be able to have A/C and get it fixed when needed. It's sometimes far too easy to take that kind of thing for granted. Anyway, we've been singing this song a lot in church lately, and I am growing to love it more and more, so I thought I'd share it with ya'll! I hope you enjoy it!
Hey ya'll! Sorry there haven't been any posts for three days. We've had some family visiting and have been quite busy! I've had this song on my playlist for a couple of years and absolutely LOVE it! It's a great reminder of how God should always be the center of our lives. Talk to you guys later! And have a great Father's Day Weekend!
That almost sounds like a prayer I've said before. It's so amazing what God can do if we only trust Him. We can afford to strip it all away because God will provide for us. Elinor is currently reading a book called God's Smuggler it's an autobiography written by a man called Brother Andrew. And she was telling me about it, and this man, he had pretty much no money. He was going to a college for missionaries and was running very low on cash. So low, that he was brushing his teeth with salt because he couldn't afford toothpaste, let alone to renew his visa and pay for the next school semester. In worldly things, you could easily say he had nothing. But do you know what? God provided for him. He not only made sure that Andrew had food to eat and a place to sleep, but He also made sure that he had the money to continue going to school in a foreign country.
You could say that Brother Andrew had many worldly things stripped away. But God still remained. And He provided for Andrew. If you're going through a tough time spiritually, financially, physically... whatever it may be, PLEASE REMEMBER that GOD REMAINS. He will protect you and watch out for you. All YOU have to do is let Him.
Hey! Just thought I'd drop in and say hi! Sorry about that crazy no-post-for-like-eighteen-days-stretch, we've been quite busy. I found this quote to be quite encouraging so I made a image to share with ya'll!
"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."
Sometimes it's easy to respond to hate with hate. However, that's not at all what Jesus would have us do. He wants us to love our enemies and show them forgiveness and compassion. Think back with me to when Jesus was hanging on the cross. The people were showing more than hate to Him. They were mercilessly beating Him. But did He hate them right back? No. He asked His Father to forgive them. To forgive us. He showed them mercy, grace, compassion, love. That's how He wants us to act too!
"Oh, A thousand years, a thousand tongues are not enough to sing His praise! They're not enough."
By Marianne
Consider that for a moment. Have you ever seen someone who is worthy of that much praise? Not just worthy of praise, but worthy of so much of it, that neither a thousand tongues, nor as many people as there are in a thousand years could ever even come close to singing as much praise as He deserves.
